Confessions Of A Sociopath- GodSight Front Cover by TheSkull31 Confessions Of A Sociopath- GodSight Front Cover by TheSkull31
I've been away longer than I thought; nonetheless, ladies and gentlemen, I am back, and this time I'm coming in full force with a new original web-comic entitled "Confessions Of A Sociopath." This follows the adventures of a man named David Samson, who, in his near-death experiences, builds a rather strange friendship with the grim reaper and goes through a series of adventures. Late in his life he became a sociopath because of certain traumatic events that happened-- the most significant being the death of his father, Gordon-- throughout a short span of just several weeks, and the events that transpire are things that not many people can understand. Now, here's the line-up for the web-comic that I plan to do over the next couple years:

1. GodSight (20 pages)
2. GodWorld (21 pages)
3. GodKin (23 pages)
4. GodHead (25 pages)
5. GodStorm (24 pages)

My original intent is for the web-comic in total to have a good 20 or so chapters, but since I've been so busy lately, I don't know what else to do but what I've been doing before, and that's giving my all, day after day. Wish me luck, guys!

Update, June 24, 2013: Wow. The front cover got a lot more views than I thought it would! I'm impressed! Anyway, I just wanted to tell you guys that by Mid-July I should have the whole chapter completed and then I'll take a month-long break from it to focus on the upcoming second chapter, which I'll reveal when I get chapter one uploaded and ready to go. In the meantime, check out the theskull31.deviantart.com/gall… to GodSight.

Update, July 4, 2013: So, folks, I heard you guys want the links to the chapter, 'GodSight,' do you, now? Well, here they are in chronological order:

Page One: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Two: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Three: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Four: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Five: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Six: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Seven: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Eight: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Nine: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Ten: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Eleven: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Twelve: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Thirteen: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Fourteen: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Fifteen: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Sixteen: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Seventeen: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Eighteen: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Nineteen: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…
Page Twenty: theskull31.deviantart.com/art/…

Hopefully, that way, I'll get more page views and more deviation views. Anything helps, folks! And by the way, that's just a little hint in case you want to become a follower of the comic. Happy viewing! And just so you know, there's more to come, so keep your eyes peeled... ...also, if you want to watch the promo and preview, feel free to go to the www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9lvcz… to it. Like I said before in my previous journal entries, I expect to have the whole chapter uploaded by the end of July. From there, I shall take it upon myself to take the comic to new bounds.

Update, July 29, 2013: Whoa! 500 views?! You've got to be kidding me! Thanks so much for the love, guys! Oh, and by the way, there may be a new folder in my gallery to make up for the second chapter of my comic, which I plan to unveil to DeviantART starting August 30th; so, with that said, all the pages to my comic are above that last paragraph above this one in case you guys need to know anything about it (the first chapter of my comic). I cannot believe this one deviation has finally broken the 500-view barrier. Thanks again, guys! Much appreciated! Oh, and by the way, here are five more chapters that I plan to name for my comic:

6. GodFuneral (25 pages)
7. GodWither (23 pages)
8. Return To GodWorld (30 pages)
9. GodTruth (26 pages)
10. GodTime (24 pages)

Again, I'm just coming up with these titles from the top of my head. (See titles #1-5 if you don't believe me)
Now, I'm currently halfway through the second chapter, and I should be done in thirty days or so. I guess we'll find out on August 30th, won't we?

Update, September 1, 2013: I'm still amazed at how many views this one deviation has gotten. Nearly 900 views and counting. It's perplexing, you know? Anyway, I want to go ahead and introduce you to the front cover of my second chapter. The link is below.

Feel free to check that out whenever you can. Oh, and by the way, this is my last update, I promise. You people have a nice day!

Sup? Sounding off from ProjectComment

First of all wow look at all those pages you have done! You sure have more dedication to a cause than me! that's really great.

Ok now for the constructive part. I too use crayons in almost all my traditional work. It's just so much easier to use on the go than any other medium. You only have to pull out the water colors once in front of a lunch room full of people before you swear to NEVER do it again!

As for your coloring I would give a few tips. One color on a flat surface. if you look at the picture you can see imprints left where you colored on top of things. Another I am always told but never actually follow is color in the same direction to give it a smoother appearance. I know this one is hard. I try to but end up saying screw it.

One final suggestion not related to the crayons, I would suggest using a thinner marker at the bottom so your words don't bubble together like that.

Keep it up! I'm sure I'll see many more pages from you in the club!

Hi! This is on behalf of ProjectComment

A comic is a huge project to undertake. Even for amazing and experienced artists, artists way beyond my skill level, this sort of work represents a massive sinkhole of time and effort. I admire your dedication to this project and being committed to it over the last two years is wonderful. This kind of tenacity will no doubt be a key factor in your success in both artistic and non artistic endeavors, so keep it up!

Now, I think there is a direction you need to take your art in, and its not the easiest one, but it will be the most effective one. I've noticed that you've expressed frustration with your current skill level and I'm sure that a systematic approach to improving will be well received by you. This direction/approach is the scholarly and classical one. It is a slow crawl, and it will be very difficult and frustrating, but if you do it wholeheartedly and with dedication you will be absolutely great in no time.

I will not overwhelm you with a list of things that the classical approach entails but I will give you these three basic skills and three books you should either download or purchase/borrow to understand each. Mind you DO NOT SKIM through these books. They will each take anywhere from two to six months to fully understand and master. The three skills you need are:

-Observation/Measuring (Read : Keys to Drawing by Bert Dodson OR Drawing On The Right Side of The Brain by Betty Edwards)
-Construction/Imaginative drawing (Read: Fun With a Pencil by Andrew Loomis)
-Perspective (Read: Perspective Made Easy by Ernest Ralph Norling)

This is a year's workload, my friend, but it will lead to huge improvements. You may at any time come to me with questions or concerns (I'm also working through them, but I'm a few months into it already)

Hope this helps and best of luck!

I actually had Betty Edward's Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain several semesters ago in Drawing Fundamentals class at my community college, but I didn't do good enough to move forward to the more difficult material, so I had to drop the class.

It's time to revisit then my friend (or try the other book for that item). Take it at your own pace and be patient with yourself. I can give you some feedback on your exercises if you need to. Don't feel pressured to move fast or to get to certain standards like you would in a class, focus on getting what the author is trying to tell you and having your work reflect the principles that they want you to know. I'm certain you can do it.

I think that I have not closely read it but by the visuals and the linear detail you must have a lot to say. I think that I envy someone with the structure to go ahead and have a cohesive narrative and plot. As you can tell in my work, there is none- it's simply random psychotic statements that I'm trying to express with empathy, and destructively latent sadism.

Your'e kidding me-nah I have a comic book style but all my works are random social indictments, the pictures mean to speak for themselves as borderline narcissistic reactions to society, driven by Dali in an R. Crumb style.

Well, that's alright. After all, comic books tend to be very draining for me as I've had to put it on hold to focus on my education. Then again, it does come to me every now and again, so I normally just run with it.
